This is the first Canadian e-newsletter of the International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN). IAWN communicates the work, mission, and ministry of the International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN) in Canada. IAWN serves as a global voice of 43 million Anglican women in 165 countries, links women from around the world, and is an official network of the worldwide Anglican Communion

We are reviving IAWN Canada since it has not been active for several years. We’re creating and sustaining a connection to the global church, sharing stories of Anglican women and celebrating women’s ministry. To do this we need to get the word out and that's where we need your help!

First sign up here at iawn@national.anglican.ca so you can receive future IAWN newsletters from the Anglican Communion Office. Next, forward this newsletter to everyone you know who supports the work and ministry of Anglican women and encourage them to subscribe

We plan to send you a newsletter 3-4 times a year, plus occasional short updates. We want these newsletters to represent as much of the diversity of our Canadian church as possible and for this we will rely upon your help.  If you have a story, reflection or event to share, please contact usiawn@national.anglican.ca

Finally don’t forget to check out the new IAWN page on Facebook for the latest news

WHO WE ARE

Each issue we’ll feature a profile or news about some of the women who make up our church from coast to coast to coast. This edition we’ll begin with IAWN Canada itself.

For our first installment we will mark the death of The Rev’d Canon Dr Alice Medcof in July 2023. Leigh Anne Williams current Editor of ‘Crosstalk’ (Anglican Diocese of Ottawa) and former staff writer at ‘The Anglican’ reflects on the life and ministry of Alice Medcof.
