1 Kings 18:20-39, Psalm 96,
Galatians 1:1-12, Luke 7:1-10
“My fear is that our people will become content to live without
the fire, the power, the excitement, the supernatural element
that makes us great”.
In our prayers this week we pray for:
– our clergy and churches;
– those who are sick, suffering, fearful or in need, remembering those suffering from COVID-19 and their caregivers, those feeling isolated and those who are vulnerable;
– for peace within our country, and in the world;
– those who have died and those who mourn;
– the victims of violence and natural disasters;
– our Indigenous brothers and sisters, especially remembering their hurt and grief at this time;
– refugees, remembering those fleeing the Taliban regime, and those fleeing war in the Ukraine.

We do not need to wait for the Holy Spirit to come,
he came on the day of Pentecost.
He has never left the church.
