‘Have a blessed Palm Sunday.

Remember, a week before Jesus was crucified like a criminal,

He rode into the city a king.’ – Unknown

Dear Friends

We are hearing that there is a bout of influenza making the rounds in addition to the present strain of COVID. Neither virus would be beneficial to the congregation members.   Please be careful and take the usual protective measures.

We are continuing in-person worship, masks may still be worn. If you feel unwell or are uncomfortable coming to church, please join our Zoom as you are able.    My mask protects you and your mask protects me.

Please continue to pray for the Ukraine. Let us pray for those fleeing their homeland in fear; those sheltering in basements from fighting and shelling; those at the forefront of the conflict; those in leadership.

 A Prayer for Ukraine:

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all we pray for your precious children, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, Amen        (Archbishop Justin Welby)

In our prayers this week let us give thanks for our many blessings, and continue to pray for our neighbours, friends and family.

Let us continue to pray for the post-flood restoration work in BC and particularly for the ministry of Christ Church, Hope, B.C. May we remain mindful of the struggles and the conflicts in our own country and pray for wisdom in resolving them.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and it’s time to look back and remember what Christ has done for you. He had you on His mind over 2000 years ago.

Let us also intentionally uphold in prayer the various crises in our world, that the Lord would redeem our brokenness through His love and bring healing to our world.
