Almighty God,
your son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven
that He might rule over all things as Lord.
Keep the church in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace,
and bring the whole of creation to worship at his feet,
who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
now and forever.
A Prayer for Ukraine:
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all we pray for your precious children, that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, Amen (Archbishop Justin Welby)
We intentionally uphold in prayer the various crises in our world, that the Lord would redeem our brokenness through His love and bring healing to our world. May we remain mindful of the struggles and the conflicts in our own country and pray for wisdom in resolving them.
Let us continue to pray for the post-flood restoration work in BC and particularly for the ministry of Christ Church, Hope, B.C, and also in Hay River, Northwest Territories. Reports from Hay River say that the damage has been extensive.
In our prayers this week let us give thanks for our many blessings, and continue to pray for our neighbors, friends and family.
