“The resurrection completes the inauguration of God’s kingdom. . . . It is the decisive event demonstrating that God’s kingdom really has been launched on earth as it is in heaven.”
― N. T. Wright

‘So then, here we have people who failed to stand up to the Jews when Christ was alive, and yet no sooner was Christ dead and buried, than they take on the whole world. How can this be unless Christ rose from the dead, talked with them and put fresh heart into them?’ (John Chrysostom)
A Prayer for Ukraine:
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all we pray for your precious children, that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, Amen (Archbishop Justin Welby)
In our prayers this week let us give thanks for our many blessings, and continue to pray for our neighbours, friends and family.
Let us continue to pray for the post-flood restoration work in BC and particularly for the ministry of Christ Church, Hope, B.C.
May we remain mindful of the struggles and the conflicts in our own country and pray for wisdom in resolving them.
Let us also intentionally uphold in prayer the various crises in our world, that the Lord would redeem our brokenness through His love and bring healing to our world.
There are still some nasty germs around; Covid, flu and colds. Over the past few weeks some of our congregation have been stricken with one or the other. Please be careful and take the usual protective measures.
